Professional Leave
Annual Leave
- Full-time faculty on an “A” contract will receive two days of annual (vacation) leave per full month of employment.
- A maximum of 48 days can be carried forward from one Fiscal year to the next.
- Annual leave that is accrued in excess of 48 days at the end of the fiscal year will be forfeited.
- To avoid forfeiture, a request for permission to take annual leave must be submitted to your appointing authority no later than April 1.
Sick Leave
- Full-time faculty on an “A” or “B” contract will receive 30 days of sick leave from the first day.
- There is no accrual for the first year.
- After the first year, two days per full month are accrued.
- A maximum of 96 days can be carried forward from one Fiscal year to the next.
- Professional staff member is entitled to use up to 15 days of sick leave per contract year to care for or assist family members for the following events: illness; injury, medical, optometry or dental appointments.
- Requests for use of additional earned sick leave days beyond the15 limitation may be made in writing to the appropriate appointing authority. Approval is at the discretion of the appropriate appointing authority.
- Professional staff member may take up to 10 working days of sick leave in the event of the death of a family member within the third degree of relationship.
- There is no payment for unused sick leave upon termination of employment.
