Minutes from July 18, 1996 meeting were approved.
Committee update on professional development seminar was given by Robin Freestone of UNR. The timing for the session was discussed and agreement was reached that the session should occur after the Nevada Legislative Session (August 1997 or later). While the Legislature is in session, it was theorized that many of our potential attendees might be unable to participate. It was also noted that UCCSN events associated with a legislative year make it difficult for our folks to attend as well. The topic set forth for the event is Mediation and Alternate Dispute Resolution. The session will be in Reno, NV.
The Committee for the selection of the Roadrunner Award recipient was formed. Diana DeSimone, the privious year awardee, will chair the group. The remainder of the committee includes: Robin Freeman of UNR, John Mueller of UNLV and Diane Fruth of CCSN. Self-nomination and recommendations will be sought from the membership. The award will be announced at the Southwest Regional CUPA Conference in May 1997. That conference will be held in Snowbird, UT.
