Health Insurance Open Enrollment

The open enrollment period for our Health Insurance plan begins on May 1, 2012 and runs through May 31, 2012.  This year, the Public Employees' Benefits Program (PEBP) is not mailing out the Open Enrollment Packets as in previous years. Instead, a letter explaining the plan changes along with instructions on how to complete your Open Enrollment On-line is mailed out to employees.  If you do not receive your letter by April 27, 2012, please call the Public Employees Benefits Program directly at 1-800-326-5496. 

Employees will continue to have two choices for Health Benefits - the High Deductible Consumer Driven Health Plan and the HMO plan.  Some changes were made to the benefits to include:

• Domestic Partners' health insurance premiums will be subsidized in the same manner as spouses
• The cost of preventive dental care will not apply to the annual dental care maximum benefits.  By excluding these, you will be able to use the full $1000 maximum benefit for other dental services (ie. fillings, crowns, root canals, etc).
• Additional one-time contributions to HSA/HRA accounts for employees.

ON-LINE ENROLLMENT AVAILABLE
Open Enrollment is available both on-line through PEBP's website or by paper.  Instructions on how to complete your enrollment will be provided in the letter that PEBP sent to all employees.  Starting May 1, 2012, employees without access to computers can stop by Human Resources in Campus Services Building Room 237 to complete the Open Enrollment on-line.  If you are adding dependents, you will need to submit supporting documents (ie. marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc) to HR.
