WINTER BREAK REMINDERS

Operating Plans & Support Services

  • Vice Presidents and Deans will continue to exercise discretion to identify essential services in their divisions and determine minimum staffing levels to meet requirements within their division, college, or school.
  • Deposits can be made by bringing them to Room #54A of the Thomas and Mack Center (along with any logs that need to be completed), between 9:00am and 4:00pm from December 28 thru December 31, 2009.

Accounting for Work Time

  • Employees will remain responsible for accounting for work time during Winter Break. Employees may elect to work, may use accrued annual leave, may use accrued compensatory time (if eligible), or request leave without pay. [Note: Leave without pay results in a marginal loss of retirement credits for PERS participants and should be avoided by these employees.]
  • As always, all compensatory time must be approved in advance and serve the legitimate business needs of the University. There is no entitlement for employees to earn comp time during the year, just for the purpose of taking time off during Winter Break.

POLICY QUESTIONS

Please contact Bud Pierce at 702-895-1043, or at bud.pierce@unlv.edu if additional information is needed. Thank you.
